New combo aims to extend life in aggressive lung cancer
NCT ID NCT04472949
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether adding chest radiation to the immunotherapy drug durvalumab can help people with advanced small cell lung cancer live longer without the disease getting worse. About 46 participants will first receive standard chemotherapy plus durvalumab, then those whose cancer responds will get durvalumab plus chest radiation for up to 2 years. The goal is to improve outcomes in a cancer that often returns quickly.
