Healing hands: simple touch eases birth pain and fear
NCT ID NCT06426329
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether therapeutic touch—a gentle, non-invasive hand technique—given during vaginal birth can lower pain, anxiety, and feelings of a traumatic birth. Sixty-six pregnant women with low-risk pregnancies took part. Researchers measured pain, anxiety, and traumatic birth perception using standard scales. The goal was to see if this simple, drug-free approach could make childbirth more comfortable and less stressful.
