New registry tracks outcomes of advanced ultrasound-guided procedures for gut and bile duct problems

NCT ID NCT04813055

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This registry will follow 510 adults undergoing therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) for conditions like stomach or bile duct blockages, pancreatic fluid collections, or gallbladder inflammation. The goal is to see how well these procedures work over the long term and what factors predict success or complications. The study also compares standard non-EUS treatments to help guide future patient selection.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this registry could help doctors better identify which patients benefit most from therapeutic EUS procedures, leading to improved outcomes.

What could go wrong

This is an observational registry, not a controlled trial, so it cannot prove cause and effect. Results may be influenced by patient selection and other factors.
