New PET imaging study aims to sharpen tumor detection
NCT ID NCT07664410
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is collecting data from 2,000 adults with solid tumors who undergo theranostic PET scans as part of their routine care. The goal is to see how well these scans detect tumors and match with lab results, which could help doctors make better treatment decisions. Participants will have their imaging data and medical records analyzed, but no experimental treatment is given.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
theranostic PET tracers (imaging agents used for both diagnosis and therapy planning)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could improve how doctors detect tumors and plan treatments using advanced PET imaging.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, so it won't directly benefit participants. Results may not change current practice immediately.
