First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a smartphone app that sends text reminders can help breast cancer patients take their medication (palbociclib) on time. 45 participants will either use a paper diary or receive text reminders over three treatment cycles. The goal is to see if the app is easy to use and improves medication accuracy.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

palbociclib (Ibrance)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that simple text reminders help patients stick to their medication schedule, potentially improving treatment effectiveness.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early feasibility study with only 45 people. It does not test whether the reminders actually improve health outcomes, and results may not apply to all patients.
