Can text messages and game points tame high blood pressure?
NCT ID NCT05565716
Summary
This pilot study tested a program called SMART-HABITS-4-Health to see if it could help people with chronic kidney disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure manage their condition better. 70 participants used a smartphone app to track their blood pressure and received daily text reminders. The program used game-like points, levels, and either social support from a friend or a group leaderboard to encourage regular monitoring.
