Study challenges old fear: giving testosterone to men with prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT06733350

Summary

This study is testing if giving testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) to men with low testosterone and early-stage prostate cancer is safe and improves their quality of life. The men are on 'active surveillance,' which means their cancer is being closely monitored instead of being treated right away. Researchers want to see if TRT helps with symptoms like low sex drive without causing the cancer to progress.
