Could a magnetic chair replace pelvic floor exercises?

NCT ID NCT07265700

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compares a special chair that uses magnetic stimulation (the Tesla Chair) to standard pelvic floor physiotherapy for people with mild to moderate urinary incontinence. One hundred adults will be randomly assigned to either the chair treatment or physiotherapy for three months. Researchers will measure changes in incontinence severity and muscle strength at three and six months to see if the chair works as well as physiotherapy.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Tesla Chair (magnetic stimulation device)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a non-invasive, drug-free alternative to physiotherapy for managing urinary incontinence.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with only 100 participants, and it is not yet recruiting. The device may not prove as effective as standard physiotherapy, and results may not apply to everyone.
