First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 36 times
Summary
This study tests whether a single 30-minute session of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) on the face can reduce jaw and facial pain, improve jaw movement, and make chewing easier for people with ALS or PLS. Ten participants will receive the treatment during one clinic visit and report their pain and oral hygiene difficulty 24 hours later. It is a small, early-stage trial focused on symptom relief.
