New program aims to boost HIV prevention in pregnant women in zimbabwe
NCT ID NCT06226155
First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests a problem-solving program called TENDAI4PrEP to help pregnant women in Zimbabwe take PrEP, a daily pill that prevents HIV. The program also addresses depression and anxiety, which can make it harder to stick with PrEP. Researchers will enroll 132 pregnant women, their partners, and healthcare providers to see if the program is feasible and acceptable. If it works, it could be tested on a larger scale to reduce HIV infections in this vulnerable group.
