What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- prolonged exposure teletherapy (a behavioral therapy using exposure to avoided memories and reminders)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward an effective talk therapy for reducing both PNES seizures and PTSD symptoms, potentially improving quality of life.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small pilot study with only 44 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The therapy requires active participation and may be emotionally challenging.
