Summary
This study tested a web-based system (TECCU) that lets doctors monitor patients with moderate-to-severe inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's or ulcerative colitis) from home. 290 adults who needed strong medications (immunosuppressants or biologics) were randomly assigned to use the system or receive usual care. The goal was to see if telemonitoring helped them stay in remission longer over 52 weeks, and whether it was cost-effective.
