Scientists hunt for the hidden signs that reveal which teens will beat chronic pain

NCT ID NCT04285112

Summary

This study aims to discover biological and psychological markers that can predict whether a teenager with chronic musculoskeletal pain will recover after standard treatment or if their pain will persist. Researchers will collect brain scans, immune system data, and psychological profiles from 275 teens aged 11-18 with significant pain and disability. Using machine learning, they hope to create a model that identifies teens most at risk for ongoing pain, which could help doctors personalize future treatments.
