First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a special heart ultrasound (called TEE) during emergencies helps doctors treat critically ill patients better and more safely. Researchers will follow 1,000 adults in the ER or ICU who receive this ultrasound as part of their care. The goal is to see if TEE improves survival and helps guide treatment for conditions like cardiac arrest and shock.
