First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a token-based exercise program called TEAM Me can help children and young adults (ages 6-29) with cancer stay active while undergoing a stem cell transplant. Participants earn stickers for walking and other activities, which they can trade for rewards. The main goal is to see if the program is feasible and safe, with secondary goals of measuring changes in fitness and quality of life.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

exercise program with token rewards

What this could lead to

If it works, this could show that a simple, fun exercise program helps young cancer patients stay active and feel better during a stem cell transplant.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early feasibility study (60 participants) focused on whether patients will stick with the program, not on proving health benefits. It may not lead to clear improvements.
