Escape rooms vs. online classes: which best trains new doctors?

NCT ID NCT07176442

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested three different ways to teach new medical interns about diabetic ketoacidosis: an online course, a high-tech simulation with a mannequin, and a puzzle-based escape game. Fifty-one interns were randomly assigned to one of the three methods. Their knowledge was tested before, right after, and four weeks later to see which approach worked best and was most motivating.
