Summary
This trial tests whether an intelligent simulated patient system (ISPS) powered by large language models can help medical students improve their history-taking skills in gastroenterology. Ninety students are randomly assigned to either conventional training or four weeks of self-directed practice with the AI system, which simulates patient interviews and provides automated feedback. The study measures diagnostic accuracy, completeness of history-taking, empathy, and how well students accept the technology.
