First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a new 5-day outpatient therapy called Temperament Based Therapy with Support (TBT-S) can help reduce eating disorder symptoms in adults with anorexia nervosa. 120 participants will either receive TBT-S plus their usual care or usual care alone. Researchers will compare symptom changes over 3 and 12 months.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Temperament Based Therapy with Support (TBT-S) - a 5-day behavioral therapy program
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a short, intensive outpatient therapy option that improves eating disorder symptoms for people with anorexia nervosa.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small trial (120 participants) testing a novel therapy, and it's not yet compared against other active treatments. Results may not apply to all patients, and the therapy requires a support person to participate.
