First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests a new vaccine called MTBVAC to see if it can prevent tuberculosis (TB) disease in people aged 14 to 45 who live in areas where TB is common. About 5,500 volunteers will receive either the vaccine or a placebo, and researchers will monitor them for up to 3 years to check if the vaccine reduces TB cases. The goal is to find a safe and effective way to protect against this serious lung infection.
