First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study will enroll 1,500 pregnant women with HIV in Uganda to find the best way to screen for tuberculosis (TB) and the safest time to start TB prevention medicine. Researchers will compare symptom-based screening versus a blood test, and test starting prevention during pregnancy versus after birth. The goal is to reduce complications like miscarriage, stillbirth, and low birth weight, and improve long-term health for mothers and babies.
