Simple stamp could save thousands from TB
NCT ID NCT04466488
Summary
This study tested a new way to help clinics prevent tuberculosis (TB) in people living with HIV. Researchers changed the clinic paperwork so that TB prevention medication was automatically included on a patient's prescription, and a doctor had to actively choose to remove it. They compared this 'opt-out' system to the usual way of prescribing at over 50,000 patients across 36 clinics in South Africa to see if it led to more people getting the preventive treatment they need.
