First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looked at why some people infected with TB bacteria get sick while others don't. Researchers focused on two factors: malnutrition and parasitic worms. They studied 120 household contacts of TB patients in India, providing food to those who were malnourished and deworming medication to those with parasites. The goal was to see how these interventions change the immune system's signals and lower the risk of developing active TB.
