New drug duo takes on tough lung cancer
NCT ID NCT07037758
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-phase trial is testing whether combining two drugs, tarlatamab and AB248, is safe and tolerable for people with extensive stage small cell lung cancer that has worsened after at least one prior treatment. About 380 adults will take part. The main goals are to check for side effects and find the best dose of the combination.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
tarlatamab and AB248 (two drugs given by IV infusion)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new combination treatment for extensive stage small cell lung cancer that has stopped responding to other therapies.
What could go wrong
This is a very early Phase 1b study, so safety and the right dose are still being figured out. Many drug combinations fail at this stage, and side effects could be serious.
