NCT ID NCT06084338
First seen Jan 06, 2026
Summary
This phase 2 trial is testing whether a combination of targeted radiation (SBRT) and a radioactive drug called Pluvicto can control metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer without the need for ongoing hormone therapy. Sixty participants will stop castration and receive the treatments, with half also getting testosterone gel. The main goal is to see if the cancer stays under control for at least 6 months.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Pluvicto (Lu177-PSMA) and stereotactic ablative radiotherapy
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a way to control metastatic prostate cancer without long-term hormone therapy, potentially improving quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 60 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The combination therapy also carries risks like radiation side effects and toxicity.
