First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tested a Spanish-language electronic tool called TAPS-ESP to see if it can accurately screen for tobacco, alcohol, prescription drug misuse, and illicit substance use in primary care. About 1,000 Spanish-speaking adults from a clinic took the screening, and their results were compared to a detailed diagnostic interview. The goal was to find out if the tool can reliably identify people who need help for substance use problems.
