New generic psoriasis cream shows promise in major trial

Summary
This study tested whether a generic version of tapinarof cream works as well as the brand-name cream VTAMA® for adults with plaque psoriasis. About 560 people with mild to moderate psoriasis (covering 3-20% of their body) used the cream daily for 12 weeks. The main goal was to see how many achieved clear or almost clear skin. The trial is complete, and results will help determine if the generic can be a safe and effective alternative.
