First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at whether a specific nerve block (called a TAP block) can reduce pain after keyhole gallbladder removal. Sixty adults having planned surgery were split into two groups: one got the nerve block plus standard painkillers, the other got standard painkillers alone. Researchers measured pain levels at several time points over 24 hours and tracked how much extra pain medicine was needed.
