First seen Mar 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested whether a shared virtual reality (VR) nature experience could help hospice patients and their caregivers feel better. 26 patient-caregiver pairs tried a synchronized VR program with calming nature scenes. Researchers measured changes in quality of life, fear of death, and pain, and asked participants about their experience. The goal was to see if this drug-free approach could ease emotional and physical distress at the end of life.
