Summary

This study tested whether tamsulosin (Flomax) can reduce the risk of urinary retention and catheter-related infections in men aged 50 and older after elective surgery. Participants received either tamsulosin or a placebo after their catheter was removed. The goal was to see if the drug helps them urinate normally and avoid complications.
