This early-phase study tests whether the drug talazoparib can help people with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) who have a specific genetic mutation (cohesin) and cannot receive standard intensive chemotherapy. The main goal is to see if the drug reduces leukemia cells in the bone marrow by at least half. Only 13 participants are enrolled, so results are very preliminary.
