New narcolepsy drug shows promise in preventing sleep attacks

Summary
This study tests a new medicine called TAK-861 for people with narcolepsy type 1, a condition that causes sudden sleep attacks and muscle weakness (cataplexy). About 88 adults will take the drug for a few months, then some will switch to a placebo to see if their symptoms return. The goal is to find out if TAK-861 can safely control daytime sleepiness and cataplexy over time.
