First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested whether a calcium-based spray could help reduce the risk of cavities in young children. Fifteen children with early signs of tooth decay used either a placebo, a calcium spray, or a calcium spray with fluoride for two months. Researchers measured changes in saliva and plaque bacteria to see if the sprays made teeth less likely to develop cavities.
