New mammogram method could cut radiation without missing cancers

Summary

This study compares synthetic mammography (a 2D image made from 3D data) to standard digital mammography for detecting breast cancer. Researchers will review medical records from 750 women to see if the synthetic method works as well or better, with the added benefit of lower radiation exposure. The goal is to improve breast cancer screening and diagnosis.
