Could your diet soda change how your medicine works?

NCT ID NCT03407079

Summary

This study aims to find out if consuming the artificial sweetener sucralose changes how the body absorbs and processes certain medications. Researchers are enrolling 150 overweight or obese Black and Hispanic women to take either sucralose or a placebo pill for a month. They will measure how the body handles two test drugs and check for changes in blood sugar, gut bacteria, and fat tissue to understand potential health effects.
