First seen Jun 12, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether putting stitches in the layer under the skin (subcutaneous tissue) after abdominal surgery helps prevent wound infections. About 655 adults having planned belly surgery with a cut of at least 6 cm will be randomly assigned to get these stitches or not. The main goal is to see if fewer infections happen within 30 days after surgery.
