New study pits surgery against botox for paralyzed hands

NCT ID NCT06733025

Summary

This study aims to find out if surgery or Botox injections work better for improving arm and hand function in people with spasticity—a condition of stiff, tight muscles that often follows a stroke, spinal cord, or brain injury. Thirty participants will try both treatments, one after the other, so doctors can compare the results in the same person. The goal is to help patients and doctors make better decisions about which treatment might offer the most benefit for daily activities.
