Opioid-Free pain relief after surgery? major trial seeks safer option
NCT ID NCT05722002
Summary
This study aims to find the best and safest way to manage pain after common surgeries like gallbladder removal, hernia repair, and breast lump removal. It will compare two standard medication plans: one using common pain relievers like ibuprofen and acetaminophen, and another using low-dose prescription opioids plus acetaminophen. Researchers expect the non-opioid plan to work just as well for pain with fewer side effects.
