NCT ID NCT02437851

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether removing small, early-stage anal cancers with local surgery alone is safe and effective for people with HIV. The goal was to see if this less invasive approach could avoid the need for stronger treatments like radiation or chemotherapy. Sixteen participants were followed for up to three years to check if the cancer came back or spread.
