New ultrasound tech could reveal hidden blood flow in overused tendons
NCT ID NCT06142747
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new, non-invasive ultrasound method called SURE to see the smallest blood vessels in tendons affected by overuse injuries (tendinopathy). Researchers will compare injured and healthy tendons in 135 adults to find differences in blood flow that could help diagnose and treat these injuries. Participants receive a single ultrasound scan of their Achilles or patellar tendon.
