Phone alerts and therapy sessions aim to prevent suicide after hospital discharge

NCT ID NCT06764108

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a combination of smartphone messages and brief clinician sessions can help adults leaving a psychiatric hospital cope with suicidal thoughts and prevent suicide attempts or rehospitalization. About 360 participants will use a smartphone app to track their feelings and may receive automated coping reminders or extra sessions with a clinician. The goal is to find the best way to support people during the high-risk weeks after discharge.
