VA tests Life-Saving messages to reach veterans in crisis
NCT ID NCT04784663
Summary
This study tested whether specific public health messages could encourage veterans at risk for suicide to seek mental health care during their first year after leaving military service. Researchers worked with 355 veterans who reported suicidal thoughts but were reluctant to get help. They developed and tested different messages delivered through a smartphone app to see which ones most effectively changed attitudes and led to treatment initiation.
