New stroke stent tested against standard treatment

NCT ID NCT04973332

Summary

This study tested if a new medical device (the SINOMED SR stent) is as good as an established device (Solitaire FR) for removing blood clots from the brain during a stroke. It involved 218 adults who had a recent stroke and needed emergency treatment. The main goal was to see if the new stent could reopen blocked brain arteries as successfully and safely as the standard option.
