New scan hunts hidden clots in mysterious strokes
NCT ID NCT05636748
Summary
This study aims to understand where blood clots come from and what role they play in causing different types of stroke. Researchers will use a new imaging tracer, called 18F-GP1, to take pictures of active blood clots in the brains of 120 adults who recently had a stroke. The goal is to better identify the cause of strokes, especially in cases where the source is currently unknown or debated, like in 'cryptogenic' or 'lacunar' strokes.
