New combo training shows promise for stroke arm recovery

NCT ID NCT06057584

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a training program that combines touch (somatosensory) and movement (motor) exercises can improve arm function better than either type of training alone. Researchers will enroll 153 people who have had a stroke at least 6 months ago and have some arm weakness. Participants will complete 15 training sessions over 3-5 weeks, and their progress will be measured right after and again 3 months later using brain scans and arm function tests.
