Muscle measurements may predict stroke outcomes

NCT ID NCT06589297

First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study explores whether simple body measurements, like muscle size and electrical properties, can help predict how well someone will recover after a stroke. Researchers will measure the thickness and surface area of a jaw muscle and use a special scale to assess body composition. The goal is to see if these measurements can forecast a patient's level of disability at discharge and six months later. The study will enroll 250 adults who have recently had a stroke.
