New balloon procedure tested to stop deadly strokes

Summary

This study aims to see if a gentle balloon procedure to widen a narrowed brain artery is safe and helps prevent future strokes. It will involve 159 people who recently had a minor stroke caused by severe blockage in a specific brain artery. Participants will receive the balloon procedure along with intensive medication and lifestyle coaching to manage stroke risk factors for one year.
