New MRI technique may predict stroke recovery without dye

NCT ID NCT03265860

First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tested whether a special MRI scan called IVIM can predict how well people recover 3 months after a stroke. 274 adults with acute ischemic stroke had an initial MRI, and researchers compared the IVIM results to their disability scores 3 months later. The goal was to see if IVIM, which doesn't need contrast dye, could help forecast long-term outcomes.
