First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study compares two breathing techniques (cyclic sighing and box breathing) with hypnosis and listening to an audiobook about stress. Researchers want to see if these practices can lower anxiety right away and after four weeks of daily use. About 80 adults will participate, and their brain activity, heart rate, and breathing will be measured using MRI scans and wearable sensors.
