First seen Nov 16, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests a device called STIMIT Activator 1 in 40 adults on breathing machines (ventilators) for up to 7 days. The device aims to preserve diaphragm thickness, a key breathing muscle, by measuring changes daily with ultrasound. Researchers compare the device group to a control group to see if it reduces muscle loss and helps patients breathe on their own sooner.
