New study aims to keep patients breathing easy during shoulder surgery

Summary
This study compares two types of nerve blocks used during shoulder surgery to see which one causes less diaphragm paralysis (temporary trouble breathing). Sixty adults scheduled for shoulder surgery will receive either a standard interscalene block or a combination block. Researchers will measure diaphragm movement and lung function before and after the block to find the safer option.
